Design at Large

Design at Large presents large-scale works of historical and contemporary design, showcasing ambitious architectural installations that feature both conceptual and industrial innovation. Design at Large is intended to be a site of discovery for visitors to Design Miami/ Basel, presenting a selection of works that explore a particular theme inspired by current topics in design. Each edition is curated by a global tastemaker with a true love of design and a keen eye for present and future icons.

The 2016 Design at Large program is curated by founder and editor in chief of Cabana Magazine Martina Mondadori Sartogo and focuses on the theme of landscape. It explores the connections between the built and natural worlds from a literal, poetic, scientific or technological perspective.

The program celebrates the beauty and bounty of nature through the varied perspectives of the participants and offers myriad visions of landscape and how architecture and design can accommodate, respect and enhance their natural surroundings.
